Zamia herrerae

Zamia herreraeZamia herrerae grows in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Chiapas, Mexico. It is an understory plant, growing in forests up to 2500 feet in elevation. So, in addition to being heat-tolerant, Zamia herrerae is also cold-tolerant for a Mexican Zamia.

You'll see in the photograph here a 4-5 year old Zamia herrerae plant, with beautiful long leaves (leaflets are 8+ inches).

Zamia herrerae is rare and endangered in the wild.
