San Francisco Garden
Tour, Workshop &
Sale March 19th, 2007

San Francisco Garden
Tour, Workshop &
Sale March 19th, 2007

Monday, March 19th, we'll be in San Francisco to give a talk to the California Horticultural Society on growing cycads, and how to preserve endangered species in our own back yards. We'll also be selling some plants at great prices.

Activities will begin mid-afternoon at the San Francisco Botanical Garden at the Strybing Arboretum. The Cal Hort group has asked me to join guests at 4 PM for a stroll through the Botanical Garden "to share insights or knowledge you have about plantings in the garden," so this will be a good opportunity to see if I really know what I'm talking about! Also, this will be a good opportunity to meet and visit prior to dinner and the evening's event, and share information on the cycads in the SFBG. We're limited as to the number of people we can include in this garden tour, so please email me at info@cycads.com by Sunday March 18th, to reserve a place.

At 5:30, we'll be joining folks for dinner, and then we'll be doing a plant sale and visual workshop on cycads from during the 7-9 PM time frame.

The plant sale will include a selection of rare cold-hardy cycads, from seedlings to larger specimens, many of which have not been made available regularly in Northern California, at least in these sizes, rare species and favorable prices. We'll also hold an auction to sell the plants that remain, so there will be some good values, including wholesale-priced plants, and seedlings in community pots suitable for growers and nurseries. A portion of the auction proceeds will go to the California Horticultural Society, and we'll be donating plant material to the SFBG as well.

San Francisco Botanical Garden is located in Golden Gate Park, near the corner of Ninth Avenue and Lincoln Way.
