Echeveria affinis 'Black Knight', also known as Echeveria 'Black Knight', grows a medium sized rosette of lance-shaped, narrow, upright pointed dark brown-to-black leaves, making it nearly black in color. Thus, the cultivar name ‘Black Knight’. It forms attractive dark star-shaped rosettes. Its red bell-shaped flowers contrast with this striking dark rosette generally appearing in winter or spring. Excellent as color accent in dish gardens or rock gardens. These are drought-resistant plants and are frost hardy often down to the mid-to-low 20s. They enjoy full to part day sun
In habitat, Echeverias grow at higher altitudes generally among rock outcroppings, where water drains quickly past their roots. So, they should be planted in porous soil which provides good drainage.
