This is a re-established offset of this ultra-rare plant.
This is the true highly rare Dwarf Form of this exquisite blue plant from Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Those who are familiar with this plant know that the only true Dwarf Form of this species is native to the region immediately surrounding Port Elizabeth. When we accessed this collection in 2002, this was perhaps the most difficult plant to get imported into the USA. Not because of any permitting issue, but because the South Africans were willing to pay nearly what US buyers would pay for these rare plants.
The classic "Dwarf Form" has a leaves which are about 1/2 as long as the regular E. horridus, with leaflets 1/2 as long, but nearly as wide.
