| Encephalartos poggeiAlso known as the Kanaga Cycad, this highly prized and rare plant from Angola and the Congo has almost never been seen in the USA. However, in early 2003, we imported, under CITES permits, a small number of seeds. These have now grown out of their seedling band pots and are in 5 gallon containers.
WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
