This extremely rare cycad grows in the Barberton region, on the border between South Africa and Swaziland. Its habitat is now a protected National Park region, because of its scarcity. Its current existing habitat is 'protected' by a pine forest, which effectively hides the plants.
Nevertheless this plant is considered highly vulnerable.
It puts forth 6 foot long, dark green leaves, with the tips curving gently upwards adn inwards. There is a slight leaflet overlap, and the leaflets have just a few spines, with mature plants often having entire leaflets.
These seeds are domestically produced from seeds grown from plants in California.
At this point, they are not exportable.
They are priced as follows:
1-4 seeds: $10.00 per seed
5-9 seeds: $8.00 per seed
10-49 seeds: $6.00 per seed
50+ seeds: $5.00

WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE?

You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.

Approximate
Caudex Size

Up to 1 Inch 1-2 Gallon
1 Inch to 3 Inch 3-5 Gallon
3 Inches to 7 Inches 15 Gallon
7 Inches and Up 24 Inch Box
