| Encephalartos nubimontanus is a striking cycad with grey-blue leaves comes from a very limited habitat in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The author, Dr. Jan "Diekie" de Klerk, has done a significant amount of research into this species over the past 17 years. His dedicated efforts to record and analyze this species have resulted in this work. This is a thorough compendium of all the various forms and variants of this species, which is now thought to be extinct in the wild. We have a limited number of these books currently available. WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
