One of our suppliers contacted us saying they have a new supply of Encephalartos latifrons plants, a species we’ve been really trying to get. These plants are the desirable Trappes Valley form, in a really nice size range, where the caudex has a 10-15 centimeter diameter (4-6 inches). This is a great size to import, and grow, because the plant has the critical mass to re-establish well, and grow significantly in the coming years.
There are just a handful of these plants available, and we need to act quickly, so we are offering a 10% discount from our regular price for Encephalartos latifrons.
If you are interested, please reserve your your plant with a 50% deposit below. The balance will be due when permits are approved and/or the plants are shipped from South Africa.
You’ll
notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a
cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of
cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this
translates to pot size.
