It grows to 20 feet in trunk height, and up to 1 foot in diameter, and often produces offsets. New leaves emerge bronze or olive green. They grow to 7-10 feet long over time. It can handle either full sun or shade, and can handle a wide range of water/moisture. WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
