| These are all seedlings, now. Please click your way over to the seedling section of this website. (Please click on the image to enlarge it.) Encephalartos hildebrandtii grows in the sandy plains and rocky hill tops of Kenya, and Tanzania. It grows to a large cycad, up to 20 feet tall, with numerous suckers. Its new leaves emerge as a very attractive orange, changing to olive green, and eventually to a darker green. Encephalartos hildebrandtii is an easily grown plant, doing well in either full sun or shade, and adaptable to extremes of dryness and moisture. We have a very limited number of these seeds available at the following prices Single Seed Price: $5/seed 10-49 Seeds: $4/seed 50-99 Seeds: $3/seed 100+ Seeds: $2.50/seed These seeds have been harvested from artificially propagated plants in the United States. They are available for sale in the U.S.A. only at this time--as the permitting process for export is unfortunately quite extensive and not cost-effective at this point. Sprouted E. ituriensis Seeds You Save, We Grow for You $62.50 WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
