This is the famous rare "curly leaf" form of Encephalartos ferox from Mozambique. It only grows in a specific area near the town of Chongoene. Historically, this plant has been very hard to come by in the USA, but we were able to secure a limited supply of these seeds directly from Mozambique. Now, these have grown into seedlings, which we are offering for a limited time. WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
