Right now, we have E. ferox seedlings from 3 different ecotypes. Xai Xai is a flat-leafed form, Chiputo is a wavy-leafed form, and Chongoene is the curly leaf form.

This is the famous Holly Leaf Cycad from South Africa and Mozamibque.
Encephalartos ferox puts out a bright red cone at maturity. Its stem/caudex can grow to over three feet tall, and 10-12 inches diameter. Mature leaves can grow to 6 feet in length, and are a highly glossy, dark green.
