| Encephalartos arenarius Blue LeafAmong plants identified as Encephalartos arenarius or Alexandria Cycad, there are a small number with leaves that are quite blue. We cannot state absolutely that these are the "Blue Form Arenarius" also know as E. arenarius “Blue Form”. However, these plants are distinctively more blue than the more traditional form of E. arenarius. WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
