| Cycas sp. SaraburiThis is the most blue-leaved of the Thai cycas we've seen. It grows in limestone mountains in Saraburi Province approximately 100 miles north of Bangkok. Its habitat has less than 200 remaining large trees. It grows on a cliff near the top of a mountain at an altitude of 2000 feet. This plant develops a whitish trunk.
WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
