| Cycad Horticulture Presentation from the 2008 Cycad International Biology ConferenceThe 8th International Conference on Cycad Biology was held in Panama City, Panama, from January 12-18, 2008. This was the eighth in a series of meetings held every three years since 1987 to bring together scientists, conservation practitioners, and cycad enthusiasts to share ideas and to celebrate this remarkable group of plants. Attached as a PDF file in 4 parts is the PowerPoint presentation I gave on January 13, on the first morning of the Conference. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
