OUT OF PRINT EDITION This is Douglas Goode's landmark publication, which introduced the horticultural world to the beauty of African Cycads, particularly specimens in their native habitat. Goode's realistically pristine illustrations are exquisite in their color and realism. This book is no longer in print. However, we have been able to obtain a limited number of books in virtually new condition. In the spirit of conservation and preservation of cycads, we will donate 5% of the net sale price of each book to The Cycad Society. WHAT IS CAUDEX SIZE? You’ll notice we list and price cycads by caudex size. The caudex is a cycad’s woody, bulblike trunk, and caudex size is a good measure of cycad age. The chart below can give you a rough idea of how this translates to pot size.
