This Southeast Asian cycad is named for its native coastal habitat. Mature specimens have numerous glossy, bright green leaves which are somewhat sickle-shaped and pale on their undersides. It habitat is diminishing dramatically as coastal areas undergo development, so while it is not currently classified as threatened its global population is in jeopardy.
