It is native to a broad region stretching through Belize, Guatemala and Mexico, (in the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas, and Veracruz). It is an understory plant, growing in evergreen wet tropical forests. This Ceratozamia grows beautiful dark-green leaves to 6 feet in length. These seeds are from the Belize form, which has beautifully red-brown emergent leaves.
