Bowenia sp. "Tinaroo"

Bowenia sp. "Tinaroo" is a very rare, small, fernlike cycad found only on the cool Atherton Tableland in northeastern Queensland, Australia, at 2300 feet (700 meters) above sea level.

Bowenia sp. "Tinaroo" is similar to both B. serrulata and spectabilis, the other two species in this small genus, with the size of the smaller B. spectabilis and the toothed leaf margins of B. serrulata.

It will grow in subtropical as well as in temperate regions and is said to be the hardiest of the Bowenia, tolerating moderate frosts.
